Join Trainers across the globe who are discovering Pokémon as they explore the world around them. The newest update to Pokémon GO, the global gaming sensation that has been downloaded over 750 million times and named “Best Mobile Game” by The Game Developers Choice Awards and “Best App of the Year” by TechCrunch, introduced a revamped Gym gameplay experience, including the opportunity to join together with others to battle against powerful Pokémon in the new Raid Battle feature!

Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise, Pikachu, and many other Pokémon have been discovered!
Now’s your chance to discover and capture the Pokémon all around you—so get your shoes on, step outside, and explore the world. You’ll join one of three teams and battle for the ownership of Gyms with your Pokémon at your side.

Pokémon are out there, and you need to find them. As you walk around a neighborhood, your smartphone will vibrate when there’s a Pokémon nearby. Take aim and throw a Poké Ball… You’ll have to stay alert, or it might get away!

Search far and wide for Pokémon and items
Certain Pokémon appear near their native environment—look for Water-type Pokémon by lakes and oceans. Visit PokéStops and Gyms—found at interesting places like museums, art installations, historical markers, and monuments—to stock up on Poké Balls and helpful items.

Catching, hatching, evolving, and more
As you level up, you’ll be able to catch more-powerful Pokémon to complete your Pokédex. You can add to your collection by hatching Pokémon Eggs based on the distances you walk. Help your Pokémon evolve by catching many of the same kind. Choose a Buddy Pokémon to walk with and earn Candy that will help you make your Pokémon stronger.

Take on Gym battles and defend your Gym
As your Charmander evolves to Charmeleon and then Charizard, you can battle together to defeat a Gym and assign your Pokémon to defend it against all comers. You can also participate in Raid Battles at Gyms around the world. A Raid Battle is a cooperative gameplay experience that encourages you to work with up to 20 other Trainers to defeat an extremely powerful Pokémon known as the Raid Boss. If you succeed in defeating it in battle, you’ll have the chance to catch an extra powerful Pokémon of your own!

It’s time to get moving—your real-life adventures await!

So a year playing it and things have gotten better. Like, gen2, new items, the ability to evolve certain characters you couldn't before. I loved how the gyms worked before. Not a huge fan on these "new gyms." I liked how they use to be. Now you barely make coinage and makes it seem like Niantic is forcing players to actually spend money on their app. I still play, but just to get pokemon now. The gyms aren't really that fun anymore. I just now started playing after following the initial hype but not having a compatible phone at the time. I have been having a fun time collecting Pokemon and visiting various landmarks in my city. I would like to see a more social aspect to communicating with friends and making new ones at some point. Maybe some kind of messenger app to accompany the main app? Also trading and PvP battles somewhere down the road would be nice too! Full Review

Review: 10/25/2016: Still waiting on the trainer battles and trading you promised us, Niantic. Lowered to 3 stars. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Love the game, and the server stability has been very good despite the massive amount of users accessing the game. Looking forward to Niantic and their partners to get things stable, and I can't wait to see what updates come further down the line. Full Review

I love this game. However, I am giving this app a poor rating because every time just before or right after an update the app just doesn't work. Basically you can't login, it is really frustrating. It takes about 2 or 3 days before I can finally successfully login again and by that time I lose my daily login rewards. It is ridiculous. So, apart from the continuous login and GPS issues gameplay is fantastic and fun. FIX THE BUGS!!! Full Review

Over one million negatives and growing. Congratulations. Loose balls too easily. Need to buy more because it's difficult to get free ones. Foreground app only and will not run in the background. Means that it drains battery quickly and I can't hatch eggs during my runs. And to others that rate it lower stars, like me, App developers don't care. Full Review

This is a fun app, that gets you out of the house, and exploring your neighborhood. Even if you arent a fan of pokemon, you can have fun catching these cute critters and discovering historic landmarks, and parks, and other things right outside your window you may have never noticed before. Fun for the whole family too! Its a great way to get the kids (or grandkids) out for a nice walk. As for the game itself, it had a rocky start but it has found its feet and there are very few If any issues. Full Review

It's a futuristic game, it asssumes you have data service all over the place, which is not true. It has been twice now I was standing at a raid battle but couldn't join, it is very difficult to play it legit, so would be leaving this game. One more thing please provide joystick, because half of them are using it why shouldn't we use it then. Full Review

I really enjoyed Pokemon Go. It was great since I walk everywhere. And I was really looking forward to everything that was to be added. However, I lost the ability to play when I lost access to my e-mail. I still have the same Google account, but it's under a new e-mail and it will not let me log in to Pokemon Go. I am devasted at the loss of all my friends, and I can't bring myself to start over. Still a fun game and I recommend to Pokemon fans. Full Review

I really like the overall concept of the game but I was hoping putting a lower rating would get my complaints noticed. Gym and raid battles are very very glitchy for me and I don't know why I have tried to fix it but nothing works. Also the distance counter on my eggs is bad I sometimes have to walk double as far as I need to which is annoying. Other than that the game is fun don't let my review discourage you from playing it. I think that you give the people in Chicago the legandaries each time they get it every time and give the people in other cities a 2% catch rate even though everybody helped get them unlocked. Sorry bit I'm about to uninstall the game do to all the problems with the gyms as well. The game is going down hill fast in my opinion. Full Review

Would be better if they stipped limiting coins in dumb ways. Gyms would be more worth it if the limit was on the amount of coins per gym, per day. Not by coins per day in general. And not just per gym. Let people continue earning coins as long as they stay in the gym for multiple days, and don't bar them from coins they earned just because some other gym was claimed that day. Also, please let people have person to person fights and trading. There have been definite improvements, but there are still glaring issues. Full Review

Fun game on enjoy playing with the family. Niantic has royally jacked up the reward system for keeping Pokemon in the gym. Now you're only rewarded for your inability to keep Pokemon in the gym... and no more then 50 gold a day. Great new update to remotely feed your Pokemon but what's the point? Full Review

The location doesn't work. My girl doesn't walk anywhere near where I am. There aren't many pokestops unless I drive to the next town over. A town that I can't safely walk through with my children. I can't do raids, because if I can find a gym that has one, no one is around to do it. Maybe Niantic should put more time and energy into fixing that rather than banning spoofers. I understand why people spoof, because the only way to be able to actually do anything in the game is to spoof in a big city. I've dreamt of catching pokemon in real life since I was a child, and was super excited about sharing that love with my children. This game seemed nice to begin with, but I can't go to different towns often just to play it. Niantic is catering to those that live in big cities, and forgetting about the rest of the population. The game was a blast when it first came out. But now you just see the same Pokemon all the time, nothing new or nothing you need actually shows up. You have to drive over 50 miles just to maybe catch something new or something you need. The only time iys worth playing is when they do the week long festivals they have been doing. It would still be nice to catch all of the first gen and maybe start to see more of the good first gen amd second gen pop up. Almost to the point to where the game isn't worth taking up storage on my phone cause it never get opened up anymore. Full Review

Okay, so a year on and it's definitely a better app. In a way, I wish they had waited a year for release and just brought it out now - the hype may have lasted longer. Regardless I enjoy the game, it adds extra motivation to go for a walk when you don't have anywhere particular to go, and it is a pretty big thrill when you catch something rare (Polygon. Hell yes). But for God's sake, it needs some sort of sister app or... 'poke tracker' or something so you can run it in the background. I hate that if I want to go for a genuinely long walk I won't use it because of the battery drain. Full Review

The game is pretty fun, especially now with the gym improvement and raid battles. It's still lacking necessary features and it's time for Gen3 to make their appearence. The raid system sucks, especially for legendaries, it relies on having loads of people to help. So you either have to know a load of people who can be at the same raid at the exact time as you, or be lucky enough to find enough strangers to battle with. The timers are just rediculous and need to be extended. And there should be a system in place where you can set up battle party slots or pre selected pokemon for gym battles/raids that rather than that short time to choose pokemon before you battle Full Review

While I wish that notifications for events would load the game and SHOW the details of the event instead of just loading the game. At least some way to see that an event is active that can be accessed easily. Other than that it's a good game to walk around with. Another quip I have though is that the Plus accessory would stay on for longer than an hour. I understand that it's a feature to save battery, but at least have a toggle to enable or disable the Plus disconnect after an hour. Sometimes I'm walking for more than an hour and I don't realize that the Plus has disconnected while attached to my belt. Full Review
